Description

"TURANDOT" is a fully reconditioned example of this popular Bruce King design. Construction is of hand laid up fiberglass. Decks are reinforced fiberglass with end grain balsa sandwich construction. Constantly upgraded by her present owner over a 15 year period, she shows like a much newer vessel.

Accommodations
Starting from the bow, Turandot's accomodations include a large owners cabin with V berth. Open teak storage lockers are located port and starboard of Vberth. Next aft to port is the head with hot and cold pressure water, stainless steel sink and hand held shower. Shower drain pump is controlled by electric switch conveniently located on front of cabinetry. Opposite to starboard are two large hanging lockers. Next aft is the salon which features port and starboard setteees which double as over and under pilot berths on each side of a centerline table with seating for six. Aft to port is the Navigation area with settee which doubles as a quarter berth.

Galley
Her U shaped galley's many upgrades include a three burner Tasco propane stove with oven. Gas is controlled by a Trident solenoid panel. Hot and cold pressure water is provided to twin stainless steel sinks. Her ample insulated ice box stores provisions for a small crew for a week. Galley storage is impressive, including a 4 drawer bank with positive latching drawers.

Hull and Deck
The Ericson 39 features a fin keel, spade rudder and keel stepped mast. Hand laid up fiberglass construction. End grained balsa sandwich decks provide great stength with reduced weight. These decks were recored in 1986. Hull is Imron white with grey decks and an "Ericson" blue cove stripe. Her cockpit contains many upgraded features including beautiful custom made cockpit grates, custom cockpit cushions. LEWMAR 52 self tailing winches tame her headsail, making her easily handled. LEWMAR ST 30s on mast and coachroof. The ERICSON 39' has a vinyl covered, destroyer wheel mounted forward in the cockpit leaving the large cockpit area open for many crew while underway

Perkins 4108 diesel engine with 1425 hours was installed in 1985. This replaced the Atomic 4 gas engine.

Sails and Rigging
"TURANDOT" was recently fitted out with a removeable inner forestay allowing her to be easily sailed by one person. She has HARKEN roller furling headsail and adjustable genoa lead cars among her many upgrades. Her full batten mainsail also has lazy jacks. Ground tackle is handled nicely thru a custom made stainless steel bow roller. Adjustable backstay, topping lift, 6 linestoppers, spinnaker pole, SCHAEFER turning blocks are mounted on coachroof.
