Built in Southampton, England the Rival 34 is an excellent cruising yacht, combining excellent sailing performance, comfortable accommodations, and classic lines. In 1976 a Rival 34 won the overall handicap prize in the Offshore Singlehanded Transatlantic Race, proving it's offshore capability. Accomodations
Entering through the companionway one immediately notices the charm of this yacht. The galley is to port complete with propane stove, sink, icebox, and plentiful storage. Opposite to starboard is the sit down nav. station with chart storage. Directly behind the nav. station is a quarter berth. Moving forward you pass through a very unique key-hole shaped bulkhead into the main salon. Features include a u-shaped settee to port that converts to a double with a pipe berth above and a straight settee to starboard with storage above. Further forward is a nice sized head to port with large hanging locker opposite. The large v-berth is next with shelves to each side and sail storage all the way forward. Overall the vessel offers plenty of stowage with a very comfortable and practical layout.
