This is an ideal small cruiser and a delight to sail. It is perfect for the single or short handed sailor. "Shaba" has traditional lines and just enough teak to look and feel like a proper yacht but not so much that she cuts into your sailing time or money. Accomodations
The Sabre 28 features a traditional layout with a V-Berth forward followed by the head compartment. The head is on port and the sink is on starboard. Next aft is the main Salon with settees port and starboard the table folds up against the forward bulkhead making the salon feel much larger than most 28 ft boats. The Galley is to Starboard and features a two burner alcohol stove and a fold away extension for the counter which will enable the host or hostess to prepare and serve a complete meal or a quick snack. The cockpit features a Edson wheel pedestal mounted with a cockpit table,and full length seats with cockpit cushions. (perfect for an afternoon nap in the sun)

The sails are one of this boats more attractive assets and they include.

Deck and Rigging
"Shaba" is a masthead sloop. The deck hardware has been located for ease of single handing.The winches have been upgraded to Harken selftailing #30 winches from the original equipment. The headsail is on a Harken roller furler. The present owner has renewed the traveler in 2001 to a new custom Harken track and car. The running rigging was renewed in 2001 as well as the addition of adjustable genoa cars. The ground tackle consists of a Danforth anchor with 6ft chain and 150ft rode.

The boat was repowered in 1995 and has only 500 hr since repowering.
The engine is freshwater cooled. Power is delivered to a Martec folding prop.
