1977 CSY Center Cockpit Cutter

This is a beautiful example of a "walkover" mid cockpit cutter. This feature provides privacy to the owner's aft cabin. Thw design is the culmination of years of experience of Caribbean Sailing Yachts, LTD. in the charter business. It is the ideal cruising yacht for 2,4 or 6. Simple enough to be handled by 2 and fully capable of housing 3 couples in complete privacy.

Accomodations
Sleeps 7 in 3 double beds and 1 single, 2 heads with showers and 6'6" headroom in main salon. From forward: V berth double with head and stall shower to port, hanging lockers to starboard. Main salon has L-shaped settee (single berth) to port, drop leaf table and settee to starboard which pulls out to a double berth. L-shaped galley is further aft to port with 3 burner stove, storage and double sinks. Very large fridge/freezer is opposite to starboard. Companionway steps lead up to good size center cockpit with 2 engine access hatches. Step down aft companionway to large aft cabin with full width double berth, head and shower to port and nav station to starboard.

Sails & Rigging: Equipped for cruising. Aluminum spar stepped on keel, stainless steel wire rigging. Barient, & Lewmar, winches, 6 self tailing, and 5 regular winches. 4 sails - main & spinnaker (new 1996), staysail, & Genoa. All control lines rigged back to cockpit. Genoa roller reefed, & stay sail roller reefed. Self tending stay sail.

Remarks
: If you are unfamiliar with the CSY 44, here are some of its advantages: A handsome design, very rugged construction, very roomy below, in the cockpit and on deck, simply rigged and fun to sail, a commodious engine room with easy access and good storage capacity, huge water and fuel tanks, a straightforward interior and exterior design without annoying gimmicks or contrivances, no hidden potential costly problems to fix, a sea-going keel and hull design providing enormous stability, a large, well laid out galley with unmatched refrigeration and freezer capacity, a separate, sit-down shower compartment in the forward head, wonderful ventilation by means of sixteen opening ports, seven hatches and the two companionways. Hundreds of CSY 44's were American-built in CSY's own yard in Florida. The construction was closely supervised and done properly, thereby guaranteeing to owners a minimum of future repairs or corrections. While most CSY 44's were built for the charter trade, this is one of the few that were never chartered. This yacht has the preferred walk over layout that provides more privacy in the aft cabin, a larger nav station, more water storage and more storage in the engine compartment. The couple who previously owned this vessel completed successful 18,000 mile multiple cruses. The current owner has spent $28,000 upgrading the yacht for continued cruising pleasure.
