OVERVIEW
ALDEBARAN is seriously for sale and has been reduced dramatically in price due to various necessary repairs and survey related findings. The most significant issue may with the interior joinery:
"The interior, including joinery, cushions and headliner were in poor condition for a vessel of its vintage. Obvious signs of advanced deterioration in veneers and bulkhead structures were noted. Numerous internal panels have been replaced. Cabin sole has been re-covered, extensive rot was noted where the flooring was tabbed into the hull side under the aft end of the port settee. Vertical bulkheads opposite the mast step also displayed extensive rot at the hull tabbing on both port and starboard sides. Flooring under head compartment appeared to be in poor condition although visual access was limited. Close monitoring of the bulkheads underway are required, some reinforcing of the bulkheads may be required. Exposing effected bulkheads for further evaluation is recommended to better determine extent of plywood degradation."
