Description
You can't look at this boat without starting to dream of far off places only accessible by a true bluewater boat. The boat has been reviewed many times, most recently by "Cruising World"(Feb 99) in its "Classic Plastic" column. They used descriptions like "no-nonsense world cruiser capable of crossing any ocean in safety and in comfort", "this mastodon moves like a gazelle", "a child could steer the Alajuela in 40 knots of wind".
If you are planning to cruise you should investigate this boat.

Accomodations
Starting forward is a large, inviting, comfortable stateroom with a v-berth surrounded with warm teak woods and bookshelves and a large overhead hatch for ventilation. A vanity is to starboard with a storage locker above and storage beneath. To port is a settee with storage cabinet above, four drawers and a hanging locker. Coming aft to starboard through a teak door is the head with it's marine toilet, basin and shower. Continuing aft one enters the comfortable salon with settees on each side of the nice teak drop-leaf table. Generous storage is outboard of the starboard settee and bookshelves abound including those on the forward bulkhead. Outboard the portside settee is a good pilot berth (presently used for storage with lee cloth). Aft the portside settee is the huge chart table with it's custom electronics station housing all the electrical circuits, navigation and communications gear. Across to starboard is the fully functional u-shaped galley within arms length of the cockpit. The stainless sink is on centerline, the stove to outboard and the refrigerator is aft.
