Details 1
The Bristol 38.8 is a classic design with wonderful accommodations inside and out. The large aft cockpit is comfortable and is protected by both a dodger and a bimini top. The cockpit seats are long providing good lounging space and sleeping accommodations. The side decks are wide adding to the safety of moving around the yacht while underway and BRISE CARABINEE has the optional tall teak toe rails.
You enter the cabin via the center-line companionway. At the base of the ladder is the galley to port and the navigation station to starboard. The quarterberth is used as the seat for the chart table. it is a large, comfortable sleeping area for guests. There is a wet locker forward of the chart table.
The main saloon has a propane Force 10 heater mounted on the forward bulkhead, and port and starboard settees that convert into berths when required. The dining table is on the center-line, with double drop leaves to serve both settees. The table has special storage space inside for silverware and bottles. The settees have great storage space below, behind, and above. Bristol yachts are well known for their storage space. Headroom is also good throughout as is light and ventilation. BRISE CARABINEE is air conditioned for your comfort dockside.
Moving forward there is a large head with separate shower area to port that separates the main saloon from the master cabin. The head has a manual toilet with Y-valve to holding tank or directly overboard. There is a shower curtain to separate the vanity and sink area from the toilet and shower area. The head has a large mirror and good storage space in the vanity and lockers. There are opening ports and a dorade and fan for ventilation. Across from the head to starboard is a hanging locker.
The forward cabin has comfortable offset double berth to port with a filler that converts the area into one large sleeping area. When the filler is not being used, that area is a seat. Ventilation is very good via an overhead hatch and opening ports and dorade vents.
The interior joinery is top quality varnished teak with louvered locker doors that are good looking and provide ventilation to the lockers. The sole is 1/4" teak and holly over 3/4" marine plywood over deep bilges. The Bristol is a quality yacht with a lot to offer the next owner.
The galley features water cooled Isotherm refrigeration in a large S/S ice box, a Shipmate 3 burner propane stove with oven, double S/S sinks, hot & cold pressurized water, freshwater back-up foot pump, ample counter-top & storage space.

When you want to point high going upwind you can pick up an additional 5' of draft with the board down. The hull has been painted blue with Imron (1995) and looks good.
