Description
The Mason 53 is one of the most venerable hull designs afloat, by designer Al Mason. Water Music was ordered by Pacific Asian Enterprises, to be built by the Ta Shing Shipyard in Taiwan, in 1984. PAE, based in California, is still around today, as the exclusive importer of Nordhaven yachts.
Water Music has been the recipient of great care. She was built with NON SKID decks. (NO TEAK!) Her hull has been Awlgripped white.
Her engine was replaced with a Yanmar 140hp, in 2002. She has a Kohler 8KW Generator, which was new in 2000. Dual compressor refrigeration and freezer systems make cruising easy. Her electronics include FURUNO radar, Magellan & NorthStar GPS, Autopilot, Wind, depth and speed sailing instruments, ICOM M700 SSB & VHF radio systems.
Water Music offers easy sailing with a Hood electric stowaway mainsail and Schaefer roller furling on the jib and staysail. She also has electric Barrient primary winches! Her Bow Thruster gets you in and out of the slip if you ever choose to use one.

Forward is a large V berth cabin with plenty of storage and hanging locker space. Aft of that is a guest head compartment with shower, which services (2) port and starboard guest cabins. The guest cabins feature over and under berths, with ample locker space.
The Saloon has a dining table to port and a settee to starboard. The proper navigation station is at the base of the companionway, to starboard. There is a proper utility room to starboard, aft of the navigation station. The linear galley is to port, within the passageway to the aft cabin.
The aft cabin features an en-suite head with shower. The berth arrangement is quite offshore friendly with a queen sized berth to starboard and a single, cruising berth to port.
