"WHITE LIGHT"
1987 Freedom 36
Specifications
Description
THE OWNER WANTS THIS BOAT SOLD- NOW.
The Freedom 36 is a Gary Mull design and was built by the Tillotson-Pearson yard in Rhode Island from 1985 until 1989. The Freedom 36 is impressive enough to be included in the renowned book "The Worlds Best Sailboats" by Ferenc Mat'e.
Freedoms are renowned for their ease of sailing, comfortable safe sailing characteristics and outstanding reaching abilities. With their freestanding carbon fiber mast, powerful large roach full-batten main and self-tending camber spar jib this is about as close to a “point and shoot” boat as you can get. All lines are led aft to the cockpit for safety and tacking is as simple as turning the wheel, making it so simple to sail that you almost feel guilty. Almost.
They are well known for impressive interior volume too. With 6’2” headroom, there are two private staterooms, a large main saloon with bulkhead mounted fold away table, sit down navigation station, and lots ports and hatches for ventilation.
“White Light” is priced for a quick sale. Call for an appointment to view her today!
Details 1
Forward stateroom: Forward in the stateroom is access to the chain locker. Alaskan cedar stavings cover the hull sides for a well finished look. With the insert in place, the spacious berth measures 6'6" at the shoulders, is 6’6” in length and has storage beneath. The bureau provides two stowage lockers, a hanging locker and two drawers. There is 6’1” headroom in this cabin and a sliding door that provides private access to the head. There is one hatch, one opening port and an AC vent for ventilation and three reading lights for additional lighting. A bi-fold door separates this are from the rest of the cabin.
Head: Aft of the forward stateroom and on port is the head, with saloon and forward entrances. There is a teak fiddled countertop with a sink and pull-out mixer/shower wand. There are cabinets above and below the sink, a large mirror and a non-skid sole for same footing. Ventilation and lighting is provided by two ports, one hatch and an overhead light.
Saloon: Across from the head is a locker which houses the AC unit, with upper and lower fiddled shelf tops. Aft of that, the starboard settee has tankage beneath and storage behind it, with twin louvered door lockers framing a fiddled bookcase, which currently houses the TV.
The portside settee is L-shaped and pulls out to become a double berth. There is storage beneath the seating as well as behind it, with twin louvered door lockers and a fiddled bookcase above and behind that. The settees are a full 6'6" long.
Headroom in the saloon is an impressive 6’5”. The bulkhead mounted table has storage behind it; when lowered it accommodates an intimate dinner or expands to seat six comfortably. The spacious interior feels bright and airy, with a large overhead hatch, four tinted fixed lights, three opening ports, a dorade vent, 2 reading lights and 4 overhead lights.
Nav station: Located on starboard, it has a swing out locking seat, a hanging locker with shelf space above it and a nice sized chart table with storage beneath it. All of your electronics and electrical controls are within easy reach.
Galley: The galley area has a double sink on an island counter oriented toward center, with a storage space below and 2 drawers. Next toward the hull is a large dry bin storage compartment. Continuing around the hull is the 3-burner stove followed by the refrigerated ice box. There are teak cup and dish organizers above the icebox. All along the hull side is cabinet storage, with sliding Plexiglas doors keeping things looking tidy.
Aft stateroom: Your guests get a private cabin that includes a bureau with a hanging locker and two drawers. The full berth is 5' wide at the head, 3’ at the foot and 6'6" in length. There is Alaskan cedar staving along hull side. Two reading lights, one overhead light and three opening ports provide plenty of light and ventilation in this cabin.
