Description
"Gwaihir" is a very nice example of the Stan Huntingford design built on a semi-custom basis by Passport Yachts. This boat has been sold twice in this decade with each sale resulting in numerous upgrades by both dedicated owners. It is a pleasure to offer for sale a boat that is so well sorted out in every department by competent boaters ! The Passport 42' has a canoe stern that provides excellent stability and downwind tracking in lumpy seas. She is an easily managed blue-water cruiser with a modified keel under body that provides quick response to the helm.

Accommodations
"Gwaihir" was constructed to sail offshore and still offer a comfortable and spacious interior with two private cabins. She can comfortably sleep up to eight people. The layout is similar to the drawing, but in this boat, the head compartment is in the fore peak, and a queen sized Pullman berth is located to port. This offers more berth space than a Vee forward. The aft stateroom sleeps two more, the quarter berth/pilot berth to starboard sleeps one, and the salon has a pair of settees that may also be used as single berths. All bulkheads are solid teak staving with a rich and pleasing finish; cabinetry is solid teak with louvered doors, and hull ceilings are teak as well.

Hull&Decks
The original teak decks were removed in 2006. The decks were ground, filled and fared smooth, and then finished with Awlgrip/griptex by Hartge Yacht Yard. This is arguably the most labor intensive and expensive job a boat owner is ever likely to face. New teak rub rails were installed at the same time. In the winter of '06-'07 all exterior teak was refinished.
