"Andiamo"
1990 Contest 35S
Specifications
Description
From the renowned yard of Contest Conyplex in Holland, the Contest 35 is well built, with an innovative design. Her roomy and functional interior provides the space and comfortable living accommodations of a much larger vessel.
Built to Lloyd's specifications, her heavy weather handling is exemplary, yet she still manages a reasonable turn of speed in lighter air. She has a splendid mix of performance, outstanding sea keeping, easy handling and accommodation that works at sea and at anchor. To top it all, she is solidly built and very well finished.
Though quite well known and respected in Europe, this is a rare boat to find here in the US. This is certainly a higher than average quality boat and represents a value to an astute buyer. Come inspect this unique vessel- you will be impressed!

Forward stateroom: Starting in the pointy end, there is a spacious 6'4" long berth. The center insert has a lowered position as well, providing a dressing seat. There are bins for storage beneath that. Shelves line both sides of the berth. On port there is a hanging locker with a shelf above that. On starboard there is a bureau with locker storage above and beneath it. The cabin is provided privacy by means of a bi-fold door, which also gives good standing room in the cabin. Ventilation and lighting is from a larger overhead hatch, a Hella fan and three overhead lights.
Saloon: The main saloon has a drop-leaf, centerline mounted dining table with a straight settee/berth to port and L shaped settee to starboard. Both settees have tip-up lee boards for secure sea berths on either tack. The starboard settee has a drop in insert to convert it to a double berth and both berths are 6'8" long, so you certainly have room to stretch out on them!
Both settees have lots of storage behind as well as above them, with a fiddled shelf on either side and numerous drop down locker doors. There are four opening ports and an overhead hatch for plenty of ventilation and reading lights at either end of each settee. Overhead handrails and the low bulkhead hand holds provide good secure gripping points while at sea.
Nav station: Located on the port side aft of the settee, the nav seat is forward facing and has a back it, so no sitting until your back gives it up as on an aft facing station. The chart table space is generous and has a drawer and locker beneath it. The upholstered seat is curved for comfort while heeled and has storage beneath it, while outboard the electrical panel and instruments are close at hand, with another storage shelf above that. A Hella fan is mounted above and provides air flow for the nav station as well as the saloon on this side of the boat.
Head: Aft of the nav station on port is the head. There is a molded sink and counter space with storage beneath it and three lockers behind along the hullside. On the aft end, there is a hanging locker and a wet locker hanging area. A bi-fold door closes this space from the rest of the boat, while another bi-fold door provides access to the aft cabin.
Galley: The galley, on starboard, is L shaped and thoughtfully laid out. The double sink is deep, has a teak counter top insert and is located on centerline. Dutch tiles lend a cozy feel to the space and the cabinet storage is generous, both above and below the counter. There is a large opening port overhead as well as a Hella fan to provide ventilation.
Master stateroom: Located aft and with access behind the galley as well as through the head, the master berth is 72" x 60" and oriented fore to aft. There is a cedar lined hanging locker with shelves inside it as well. A drop front door locker with a shelf above that provides additional storage. There are two opening ports, a Hella fan and three overhead lights for ventilation and lighting.
