Details 1
The Tartan 3800 has balance of traditional styling with modern hull design, so she is well balanced, offshore capable and has a very comfortable sea-kindlyness. 3800s have cruising inshore, offshore and she is a very well proven design. Many a 3800 owner has won their share of racing hardware as well...
The deck has a deep protected cockpit with a full T-shaped so access to / from the helm is convenient. All control lines are led aft making short handed sailing efficient and safe. She has easy water access from the sugar scoop transom and hinge down SS ladder. There are four dorades and high quality SS Opening ports giving the deck a handsome look but maintaining her traditional lines.
Below the Tartan 3800 has two staterooms with double bunks, along with a convertible double salon bunk and a salon single. She sleeps seven if needed. Forward is the master suite with a large vee bunk, plenty of drawer and locker storage and a vanity with sink. The head has a separate stall shower and vanity / shaving mirror. The galley will be the envy of the dock, large icebox w/ top and front access, ample counter space and louvered locker storage. The microwave was mounted under the stove cook-top to preserve cabinet storage and the double SS Sinks are on center-line for proper drainage underway.
The Tartan 3800 has won many awards, including Crusiing World's Boat of the Year contest in 1992. Shannon is hull # 28 out of the 44 Tartan 3800s built from 1992 until 2000.
