"FORTUNO"
2002 Hunter 356
Specifications
Description
3/23/15: FORTUNO IS CURRENTLY THE MOST AGGRESIVELY PRICED 356 ON THE MARKET IN THE US. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH HER- THE BUYERS WANT TO SELL AND SAID "MAKE IT THE BEST PRICE OUT THERE"
The first of the Glenn Henderson designs, the Hunter 356 set the standard for the next generation of Hunter sailboats.
Contemporary styling, easy to maneuver and sail, with good stability and performance, the Hunter 356 makes your time on the water a pleasure. And with almost no exterior wood, you can spend your time sailing instead of varnishing!
On deck, all lines are led back to the cockpit for safety, while the in-mast furling and roller furling headsail make sail handling a breeze. The walk-thru transom makes boarding from a dinghy or the swim ladder easy. The signature Hunter Stainless Steel Arch provides wonderful control with end boom sheeting and the traveler controls are within easy reach of the helmsperson. A generous amount of cockpit seating and the two stern rail seats are a natural invitation to relax in the cockpit.
Below decks, the spacious and open feel is that of a much larger yacht. The finely varnished teak interior features large, easy to grab fiddles and softly radiused corners. The saloon features a convertible dinette that is large enough to easily seat four- with lots of elbow room to spare. Forward is a roomy V-berth cabin, while the owner's stateroom aft features loads of storage and a queen size athwart ship mattress- with a headboard! There are Corian counters throughout, a stall shower in the head and a galley with separate refrigerator/freezer compartments and lots of counter space.
All of this design innovation earned the Hunter 356 some well deserved recognition. It was Cruising World's "Best Production Cruiser under $200,000" in 2001, their "Boat of the Year" in 2002 and Sail Magazine's "Top Ten" in 2002!
If you are looking for a mid-size boat and comfort and performance are important to you, then definitely consider the Hunter 356.
"Fortuno" is a lovely, well maintained version of this roomy, comfortable family-friendly cruiser. Her owners have cared for her lovingly and it shows. They have now decided to explore life on the power boat side of things for a while- and "Fortuno" awaits her new owner.
"Fortuno" was pretty aggressively priced to begin with. What some folks feel she is lacking are an autopilot and an electric windlass- both factory options when new. Our recent price reduction will compensate for that if you are so inclined- and you can have the benefit of 2015 technology instead of 11 to 13 year old equipment. Don't want it? Keep it in your pocket- your call!
Call today to make an appointment- this is one boat that is worthy of your personal inspection!
Details 1
Forward stateroom: In the forward stateroom there is a 6’6” long berth, with locker and bin storage beneath it for linens and other items. Nicely fiddled shelves line each hull side; the hull is covered with padded vinyl. At the aft end are two tall cedar-lined lockers, the starboard with shelves and a hanging locker to port. Arched double doors separate this cabin from the saloon. Additionally there is a louvered pass-thru that can be opened for improved air flow. The lighting is provided by two overhead LED lights and 2 Halogen lights. Ventilation is provided by a large overhead hatch with screen and a 12V fan with a variable speed controller.
Saloon: Moving aft into the saloon on starboard is a U-shaped dinette with bolstered seat back cushions. There is storage beneath the seats and behind the sea back along the hull-side. Above and behind the dinette seating is a fiddled shelf, with lockers on either end. The dinette table can be lowered to convert to a 6’4” long double berth. The dinette table is mounted on a wooden pedestal with shelf storage inside it with a fiddled organizer above- convenient for napkins, salt and pepper, etc.. On port there is a 6’4” long settee with storage beneath and behind it. As was on starboard, there is a fiddled shelf with a pair of lockers on either end and a fiddled shelf above them. There are fixed lights in the hullsides on both sides between the lockers. Lighting in the saloon area is provided by six halogen ceiling lights and two reading lights on the forward end of the settees. Additionally there are four fixed lights in the house sides, two in the hull sides and 2 large fixed overhead lights at the forward end of the cabin and one overhead hatch with a screen.
Nav station: The aft end of the settee also serves as the seat for the nav station. The nav top is large enough to open chart books on and has lots of storage beneath the lid. There are open cubbies for small items behind the lid and a locker beneath it. Additionally, there is a large teak panel for mounting of electronics with a shelf above.
Galley: The U-shaped galley is located after the dinette on starboard. The abundant Corian counter tops are wrapped with high fiddled hand holds. The polished stainless steel sinks are mounted beneath the Corian and oriented toward the dinette. To the left of the sink is a trash receptacle with a Corian cover. Also to your left while at the sink is a stack of 4 drawers, the lowest being a pull-out dish organizer. Beneath the sink is a pair of double doors with lots of storage space inside. Moving around toward the hull side, there are top loading refrigerator and freezer compartments and a 2-burner gimbaled stove along the hullside. Behind the stove is a set-in Corian holder for spices and assorted bottles. Above he counter there are drop-front door lockers, with a microwave oven located between them and a fiddled shelf above. Beneath the stove is a drop-front locker for storing pots and pans.
Head: Across from the galley on port is the head, with a separate shower stall. The sink is located directly ahead of you as you enter. There is storage beneath the counter and a mirrored drop-front medicine cabinet above it. The mirror is wisely sloped upwards, so there is no stooping to see yourself. To your left is the shower and head, with a glass privacy door and translucent teak framed window. The showerhead is mounted on a bar for adjusting to your desired height. There is wet locker storage at the aft end of the shower compartment. Both spaces in the head area have overhead lights and opening portholes.
Aft stateroom: The master stateroom is aft of the galley on port. The queen size berth is oriented athwart ship and has a padded teak head board. There is storage space and a fiddled shelf behind the head board; night stands are located on either side of the bunk; the forward nightstand has an open cubby beneath it. At the aft end of the cabin is an 18” wide teak surface with bin storage beneath. There is a cedar lined hanging locker with a fiddled shelf above it at the entry to the stateroom. Lighting is provided by two overhead lights, two reading lights, a fixed light in the hull side above the headboard, one opening port and an overhead hatch that opens into the cockpit.
