Description

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION SUBJECT TO OWNER'S APPROVAL

Designed by Glenn Henderson, the Hunter 44 Deck Salon offers exceptional sailing characteristics with an easy to handle sail plan. With in-mast furling, a fractional rig and all lines led aft to the safety of the cockpit, it is a comfortable cruiser that is easy to sail single handed or by a couple.

Hunter has learned much from the IOR boats and has incorporated some of that technology into their cruising boats to enhance performance without sacrificing comfort and ease of sailing. The hull has a special "bow hollow" just aft of the stem, which provides a longer waterline to increase hull speed. The aft underbody has a "stern reflex", giving a flatter exit, adding stability and decreasing wake and turbulence.

EOS' cockpit is comfortable, efficient and great for entertaining, with double stern rail seating, spacious cockpit seating and a large drop leaf table. The interior accommodations are luxurious and what one would expect to find on a much larger boat. The wrap-around salon windows offer a panoramic view of the outside and keep the space bright and open; the 6’ 11” headroom add to that feeling of spaciousness.

Here's a few of EOS’s highlights:

  • Fresh water boat except for about 6 months in salt water
  • Bow thruster
  • Kevlar reinforced hull
  • In-mast furling
  • Full Strataglass and screen cockpit enclosures
  • Custom Bottomsiders cockpit cushions
  • Corian countertops
  • Stainless steel refrigerator and freezer
  • Inner spring mattresses
  • Dual reverse-cycle heat & air conditioning units
  • Flat screen TV
  • Bose entertainment system
  • Full grain leather upholstery
  • Two cabins/two heads

EOS has been well cared for and loved. The owner is moving on to other things, so now it’s time to sell. EOS is a great example of these comfortable cruisers and certainly worthy of your inspection, whether your plans are for use on the Bay or for longer distance cruising to the Islands and beyond!

Accommodations

Forward stateroom:

The V berth is a spacious 80” x 17” x 78” and has locker spaces beneath it as well as storage under the bunk. Padded hullsides keep it comfortable to lean against, with fiddled shelves that wrap continuously around above either side of the berth. A large arched mirror at the foot of the bed helps make the space feel even larger than it already is. There is a changing seat on starboard with storage beneath it. Aft of the seat is a tall divided locker with hanging space on one side and adjusting shelving on the other. Head room is 6’1”.

Forward head: The en-suite head is on port just inside the cabin. As you enter, the head is in front of you, with a Corian counter top and fiddled shelves above it.  To your left is the sink, with double door storage beneath and a mirrored medicine cabinet above it. The separate shower stall is to your right. There are 3 lights above the medicine cabinet, an overhead light in the shower and an overhead hatch for light and ventilation. Headroom is 6’2”.

Saloon:  Moving aft into the saloon, on starboard is a 6’4” long settee, with storage beneath and behind it.  Above is a single hinged locker and a fiddled shelf, with another continuous fiddled shelf funning the length of the hullside above that.

On the port side is a huge U-shaped dinette. The dinette can easily seat six for meals. The table can be either 32” or enlarged to 50” wide with the center leaf installed. When converted to a berth, it is approximately 90” long and 50” wide at its narrowest point.  There is loads of storage under the dinette seating.  Above and below are two drop-down and one hinged door lockers, with a fiddled shelf between them and a fiddled shelf above running the length of the hull sides. Headroom is 6’11” and the space is huge and comfortable, with great visibility from the deck saloon windows all around.

Nav station: The nav station is on starboard and aft of the settee. It has a curved seat of teak staving with storage below it.  The chart table has ample space for a chart book and good storage inside it.  There is a stainless-steel bar for mounting a nav pod and additional electronics should you choose.  There is a small cubbied shelf at the edge of the seat. Headroom 6’11”.

Aft Head: The aft head has dual entry from the saloon as well as the aft stateroom.  As you enter from the saloon the head is directly in front of you, with a counter and sink to the right of that.  There is a locker beneath the sink as well as a mirrored drop-front medicine cabinet above it.  Forward is the separate stall shower, with a frosted glass bi-fold door and shower wand on an adjustable height bar.  There are two overhead lights, two opening ports and an overhead hatch for lighting and ventilation. Head room is 6’9” and the shower headroom is 7’1”.

Galley:  The L-shaped galley is at the base of the companionway on port.  Wrap-around Corian counter tops have tall sculpted and radiused hand holds for safety. The deep double sinks are oriented toward centerline and facing forward.  Below the sink counter is a double doored storage cabinet; to the right of that a large upright refrigerator.  Outboard of the sink is a below-counter trash bin; there is an additional storage shelf behind the trash bin.  Moving around along the hull side is a pull-out 3-tiered wire shelving unit, next the Force 10 stove; aft of that is a front opening freezer.  Beneath the stove and freezer are drawers. Above that counter along the hull are the microwave, a large drop front storage locker and forward of that, a glass double door dish storage area.  A fiddled shelf runs continuously above all of that along the hull. At the aft end above the counter is a 3-tiered spice rack.  Between the counter and the companionway is a tall pantry unit, with arched double doors, adjustable shelves and organizers.  Additionally, there are 3 drawers below that.  Headroom is 6’10”.

Aft Master stateroom: The aft master stateroom entry is from starboard, with a private entry to the head just inside the cabin door.  Stepping down into the master cabin, there is a centerline queen Island berth with a padded headboard.

On the starboard side of the cabin is a large hanging locker with a fiddled shelf above.  Aft of that is a deep night stand. A fiddled shelf runs the length of the berth along the hull and has cubby storage beneath it. On the port side, there is another hanging locker, a wide changing seat with storage beneath it and a recessed book shelf with adjustable shelves.  Across from the foot of the berth is a Corian counter.  Above the counter is an arched mirrored-door locker with an adjustable shelf and 3 dressing lights above it.  There is additional storage beneath the berth.

There are three opening ports, two fixed ports and an opening hatch for lighting and ventilation. Additionally, there are reading lights at the head of the bed and one in the seating area, three lights above the vanity space and two overhead lights. Headroom is 7’2” at entry and 32” above berth.
