2006 Beneteau 373
Specifications
Description
If you're in the market for a cruiser that doesn't trade comfort for performance, you need to consider this Beneteau. Plane Medicine feels like a much larger boat both inside and out, making it a perfect fit for those looking for a "big boat" under 40'. Tank volumes have increased by over 20% from earlier models, extending the 373's powering range to well over 300 miles and providing extra water capacity for passage making or cruising remote areas. The large cockpit makes spending time at sea comfortable and nice equipment at the helm - including a multifunctional chart plotter with integrated AIS and radar - keep you safe and prepared.
Plane Medicine is being sold by her third owner who has spent many hours at the helm, mostly navigating the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. He's ready to hang up his VHF and move onto other pursuits and is proud to deliver this solid, proven vessel to her next owner to carry on the adventure.

Since the cockpit is where you spend the majority of the time onboard, it needs to be comfortable, functional, and convenient. The cockpit space in this Beneteau 373 is huge, thanks to the beamy 12'4" stern and seats 8 adults comfortably. The pivoting patented wheel slides out of the way while not in use for even more room, and the folding teak cockpit table and plenty of drink holders are nice accents to an evening of entertaining. There is fantastic access to the swim platform through the tilting helmsman's seat, making it easy to board the dinghy or take a dip in the water. While you're back there, take advantage of the hot/cold cockpit shower to rinse off after a swim.
Everything you need to sail the boat, single-handed or with crew is right at your fingertips without leaving the cockpit. The Garmin 7" touchscreen chart plotter is loaded with US & Caribbean charts, ready to guide you wherever the wind will take you. The Garmin 48 mile radar and AIS will make sure you get there safely. Raymarine 6000 Autopilot, wind, depth, and speed gauges are all right at the helm as well.
All lines are led aft to the primary (2) Lewmar 30ST's on the cabin top, and the (2) Lewmar 44ST genoa winches are placed far aft within easy reach from behind the helm and out of the way of guest seating. No more asking people to move when you need to tack! Strategically placed winch holders and line ties keep everything within reach and organized.
Safety is always a top priority and Beneteau has designed the cockpit with that in mind. The stainless-steel bow and stern pulpits are connected with 24" tall stanchions and double stainless lifelines. Grab rails on either side of the coachroof are strategically placed, along with non-skid and wooden grab rails surrounding the companionway steps. In case you do take a wave over the bow, the self-bailing anchor well and self-bailing cockpit along with a perforated aluminum toe rail, allows the water to drain quickly.
