Description

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION SUBJECT TO OWNER'S APPROVAL

A faithful heir to her predecessors, the Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 41 has retained all the qualities that made their success:

  • Elegance and performance under sail
  • Easy handling and secure control
  • Outstanding interior comfort, both above and below deck

By design and utilizing a controlled use of height by slightly raising the floor space in the saloon area, Wauquiez has created a high performance yacht with a wonderful panoramic view from the inside. “ACQUIESCE” has a number of features that make her comfortable and fun to use:

  • Large centerline aft berth
  • Reverse cycle heat and air conditioning
  • Generator
  • Bow thruster
  • Folding swim platform with stairway access

“ACQUIESCE” has been loved by her current owners, but a change of plans necessitates her sale. With only 38 of these made, she represents an excellent opportunity for her next owners.

Accommodations

Forward stateroom:The guest stateroom is a V berth configuration; the starboard side is 7’4” long and the port 7’10”. There is storage forward and below the berth, open storage at the back of the berth (where the spinnaker lives) and a cubby with a shelf under the starboard side. Cherry staving lines the hullsides up to fiddled shelves, which run the length of the bunk on either side.

On port and just aft of the bunk is a cubby below and a custom matching cabinet with open shelves and fiddled counter space above that. This adds a good bit of storage to the space. Aft of it is large hanging locker, with a fiddled shelf above it. Inside the hanging locker and to the back is an additional shelf space.

Lighting and ventilation to this space are from one fixed port, two overhead hatches, three overhead and four reading lights and a Caframo fan. Headroom is 6’4” in this cabin.

Forward head: As you enter the forward head, the head is to your left and sink immediately in front of you. The curved counter sink has a cherry fiddle and a curved door locker beneath it, a fiberglass shelf with cherry fiddle above and behind the sink and a mirrored double door medicine cabinet above that. The faucet has a pull-out wand sprayer for showering. To the left is the head, with a fiberglass shelf with a wire stainless steel rail well above that; a fixed port light is above that shelf.

Lighting and ventilation are provided by a fixed hullside port, an overhead light, one dorade and an opening hatch.

Saloon: The raised dinette is on starboard and has a beautiful panoramic view. U shaped, there is comfortable seating for five. Behind the seating along the hull the seat backs are hinged to drop down accessing storage the length of the seat back. Above and behind that is fiddled shelf space, with dividers to prevent things from sliding around at sea. Additionally, there is a tremendous amount of storage beneath the seating and a huge top-accessed storage bin in the large shelf area at the forward end of the dinette. A lee cloth is fitted to the settee, or the dinette can be lowered to for a 7’7” long x 51” wide berth. Additionally, the dinette top can be folded in half forward to reveal a café sized table when desired. The 6’6” headroom makes this space feel very open and spacious.

Wall sconce lamps are at either end of the dinette in addition to the eight overhead lights- though with the pilot saloon windows surrounding you there’s plenty of light! Accordion shades can be lowered for privacy at night when you want it. For ventilation, well, there’s plenty of it. Two Hella fans, three overhead hatches with OceanAir shade/screens and seven opening ports- which are hidden from the outside by lateral louvers, so you can keep them open in inclement weather.

Galley: Located on the port side of the saloon, the linear galley has a clear view to the outside and keeps you part of the conversation in the saloon. Starting aft and just in front of the nav station, you will find the deep double sinks. Cutting board covers over the sinks optimize counter space when you want. Large double doored lockers are beneath the sink. Moving forward is the stove, with another locker beneath it. The stove cover provides counter space when you aren’t using the stove and slides down behind it when you need to cook. Continuing forward, there is a top loading freezer and then, under the same counter space, a front-loading refrigerator.

Above the counters are five drop-front door lockers, including a pull-out silverware drawer in one. Across from the refrigerator and freezer cabinet is a huge double doored pantry with shelves.

As with the rest of the saloon, headroom is 6’6”.

Nav station: Located on port at the base of the companionway, the nav station is forward facing and comfortable, with a seat cushion and back. The chart table has plenty of room to hold a chart book and has good space beneath it. There is a cubby beneath the table as well as outboard of the helm seat. There is great storage beneath the helm seat and an instrument panel with a fiddled shelf above the chart table. Your electrical panel is outboard, as well as more instrumentation.

Master stateroom: You enter the master stateroom on port behind the nav station. The centerline berth is a huge 80” by 66” and has two large drawers at the foot and additional storage beneath the berth. Across from the foot of the bed is a mirror, with a fiddled counter space below it.  Along the port side is a large hanging locker, with a fiddled shelf above it. Cherry staving lines the hullside up to another fiddled shelf, which runs between the hanging locker and aft end of the cabin. Along the starboard side there is a large double door locker with a deep fiddled shelf above that running out to the hullside. Next aft is a cubby with a shelf above it that serves as a nightstand.  Each side at the head of the bed has a reading light and Hella fan; two opening ports are on either side of the cockpit well and a fixed port is on either hullside. There are four overhead lights for additional lighting. Headroom is 6’8” on either side and 5’10” walking from side to side under the cockpit. Entry to the ensuite head is on starboard.

Aft head: Entering the ensuite aft head, the head is to your right, the sink is immediately in front of you and the separate stall shower to your left. The curved counter sink has a cherry fiddle and a curved door locker beneath it; a mirrored drop-front medicine cabinet is above that. To the right is the manual head, with a fiberglass shelf and a fixed port light above that shelf. To the left is the shower stall, which has a spray wand on a height adjustable slide bar. Ventilation and lighting are provided by three overhead lights, one fixed port by the head and one opening port in the house side windows. Headroom in these spaces is 6’8”.
