"Sweet Eld" is a very sharp 2007 29' BackCove inspired by the Maine Coast boat building tradition. She is an extremely well kept yacht and has been operated in Fresh Water only until May of this year (09)The inventory includes a tender that stows on the hardtop, full canvass enclosure with screens, bow and stern thrusters, cruising spares, and extra refrigeration capacity. The Yanmar Diesel is dependable and smooth, recently serviced by Bay Shore Marine. Valves adjusted as per spec and running like a top!

Accommodations
The Back Cove has a warm and spacious cherry interior. The cabin sole is traditional teak and holly. There are ash ceiling strips above the settees, a dinette with backrest cushions, and a Hi Lo cherry table with maple inlay. A V-berth with filler cushions forms a genuinely comfortable berth for two that measures 5' at the aft end and is almost 7' in length. Salon headroom is 6'3". The hanging locker is cedar lined and the dinette/berth area has reading lights. The overhead is ash ceiling strips. There are 4 stainless steel opening ports w/ screens complemented by a large overhead opening hatch W/ screen. 12volt Hella fan for those nights on the hook when AC is not available via shore power. The stereo system with CD has interior/cockpit speakers with wired remote. Additional storage is under the dinette and forward berth.

Galley
The galley is to port w/ quick access to companionway steps and offers space for meal prep. It has a fridge installed under the counter, as well as a stainless sink with hot & cold pressure water. Lockers and drawers are provided for stores.
There is cookware appropriate for the small Origo stove.

Helm Deck/Cockpit
The Hull is a striking dark blue gel-coat with a white molded boot top. The decks are white w/gray diamond-shaped non-skid for secure footing. The side decks are refreshingly wide - about 18" to allow for easy for and aft movement on the boat. The helm deck itself is the boat's nerve center. There are Custom Pompanette Captain & Mate seats with foot rests and fully adjustable. To Port there is an L-shaped settee with storage underneath. On "Sweet Eld," this storage space holds an auxiliary 12-volt refrigerated box. The cockpit has removable seats to free up space to facilitate fishing. The helm deck hinges up pneumatically to give access to an extremely clean engine compartment with great acsess to systems!

Engine
Yanmar 6-cylinder diesel w/ ZF 63A marine gear. Performance data available as to fuel burn and range as well as decibel ratings @ the helm. Clean engine starts first crank, barely smokes, and turns up without being too loud for comfort at the helm deck.
Spring 2009 service:

3) valves adjusted by certified Yanmar mechanic
4) replacement zincs
The above service done on "preventive maintenance basis" Primary use since new has been in fresh water, i.e. lake Ontario

Deck&Hull
The hull design incorporates a "prop pocket" which achieves a draft of 30". Vinyl ester Resins were used in the laminate layup as a hedge against osmotic blistering. There is closed cell foam core vacuum bagged in the running surfaces and there are encapsulated foam stringers to add reinforcement to the hull.
