"BUEN CAMINO"
2008 Catalina 309
Specifications
Description
First introduced in 2005, the Catalina 309 was the continuation of the amazingly successful Catalina 30, which was introduced in 1974. Production of the 309 ended in 2011. There were approximately 6500 built during this incredible 37-year production run. As with the 30, the Catalina 309 was designed to be a wholesome family racer/cruiser, combining good performance and great accommodations with remarkable lines and styling.
The Catalina 309 received high industry praise on her own, including the prestigious Cruising World "Boat of the Year" and "Best Small Cruiser" awards.

Details 1
Master stateroom: The forward stateroom can be closed off from the salon with an accordion door. The berth measures 6’5” x 6’5” x 20” and is low enough to be able to sit directly onto it comfortably. A sliding V berth filler stows away for better access by day and slides out for a larger berth at night. When not in use, the V berth cushion stores vertically to provide a backrest for reading. Beneath the berth are two drawers on port, a locker on starboard and a small drop door locker on center. There are fiddled shelves along either hull side. Lighting and ventilation provided by an overhead hatch, air conditioning and two reading lamps. Headroom in here is 5’10”.
Head: Moving aft and directly across from the head is a double-door hanging locker with shelf space above and a cubby bin behind that. As you look into the head, the toilet is directly ahead of you, with the sink oriented to the right of it. There are mirrored sliding door medicine cabinets above and a wall mounted mirror by the sink. The interior surfaces of the head are molded fiberglass and laminate for easy wipe down. The headroom is 5’11”, while lighting and ventilation is provided by an overhead light and an opening port.
Salon: In the salon there is a 5’2” long settee on starboard. There are batteries and storage beneath the settee and behind the seat backs. The center cushion of the settee folds down to provide a table space. The aft end of the settee doubles as the nav seat. The port settee is 6’2” long and can pull out to provide a double berth. The dinette table will easily sit four; an interchangeable café table can open the space up even more. Both settees have fiddled shelves above them and a fixed hullside light in. Lighting and ventilation are provided by two housetop and two hullside fixed lights, two opening ports and two overhead hatches. In addition there are four overhead and two reading lights. Headroom in the salon is 6’2”.
Nav station: The nav station is at the aft end of the starboard settee. There is a chart table with storage beneath it as well as electronic and electrical services. Headroom at the Nav is 6’.
Galley: The U-shaped galley is at the base of the companionway on port. Starting aft, there is a fiddled counter with a top access icebox and a front access refrigerator/freezer. Above that, a hinged panel provides access to the trash can in the lazarette, keeping refuse outside the living space. Moving around along the hull is a two burner stove with oven. Pot and pan storage is beneath the stove. To the right of the stove is a top access dry bin and a deep stainless steel sink oriented toward centerline. Beneath the sink are three drawers and a locker. Along the hullside are two sliding door lockers. Headroom in the galley is 6’1”. Lighting and ventilation is from two overhead lights and one opening port.
Aft stateroom: The aft cabin entry is on starboard at the base of the companionway. As you enter there is a hanging locker with a shelf storage inside and a fiddled shelf above it. Another fiddled shelf runs the length of the 70” x 60” x 41” berth along the hullside. Lighting and ventilation is provided by air conditioning, an opening port, an opening hatch and two reading lights. Headroom in here is 6’.
