Description

I once asked Jerry Cann, one of the most knowlegable sailors I've met, which boat he'd choose for a singlehanded voyage. He responded immediately, "the Pacific Seacraft Dana". This Bill Crealock design has everything one could want in a pocket cruiser; classic lines, pure breeding and the ability to go anywhere in the world in safety and style.

We don't get many of these on the Annapolis brokerage market and it'd been a long time since I've had one as nicely maintained as RED HERON. Come inspect her quickly, as she won't be here long.

Hull & Deck
The Dana 24 has made her legendary reputation by providing the same feeling of security as her much larger cousins; the Crealock 34 and 37'. Her deck is complelt surrounded by bulwarks, a full five inches at the bow and topped by a custom fitted teak caprail. Doubles rails, stainless stell bow and stern pulpits and 30' high stancions support sturdy lifelines. For added security, there are 4 through bolted teak hand rails that run the length of the cabin top. Her cockpit has 6'4" long seats, ideal for sun bathing or snoozing. Her high coamings offer protection from wind and sea, while her integral wich islands allow for convenient and efficient sail handling. This boat was bred for the sea. Large cockpit lockers provide plenty of storage space for sails and cruising gear. A high bridge deck adds to her structurak integrity and water tightness is adverse and stormy conditions, while 2 over size cockpit drains allow for fast self bailing. A heavy duty Horizon winlass takes all the muscle out of anchoring. This is a very safe vessel.
